Charlottetown Airport announces traffic numbers for busy tourism seasonCHARLOTTETOWN, PE - The Charlottetown Airport Authority announced today that traffic for the third quarter was up 2.2% in comparison to 2012, as 115,929 passengers went through our facilities from July to September. This represents the best 3rd quarter in the airport’s history.
"Given that seat capacity was only marginally better than last year during this period, we are very pleased to see such strong passenger numbers for our busy summer season,” stated Airport CEO, Doug Newson. "Both July and September were record travel months for the airport while August was only slightly lower than the record from 2008,” noted Newson. Overall, air traffic at YYG is down just under one percent year to date.
"Looking ahead to 2014, we are optimistic that traffic numbers will continue to grow as a result of the numerous activities and celebrations planned throughout the year and the strong forecast for meetings and conventions travel to our province,” said Newson.
